This framework captures a systems principle often missed in transformation models: durable change requires both disruption and adaptation. Technology rarely overturns economic realities. Value flows to the point in a system where integration creates the greatest advantage, while other parts of the value chain become increasingly commoditized. Understanding the system matters more than understanding the technology.
